TJ Viljoen

TJ Viljoen is Chief Executive Officer of LexisNexis Pacific. LexisNexis is a worldwide leader in legal and News and Business information and is a division of the global media group Reed Elsevier plc.

TJ is responsible for formulating and executing the strategy to ensure the continuous growth of LexisNexis Pacific and to provide direction and leadership towards the successful implementation of the company’s strategy, annual goals and objectives.

Prior to relocating to Australia in 2009, TJ held an executive position with LexisNexis South Africa for 15 years, responsible for business development and strategy. His responsibilities ranged from strategic planning in core markets and Africa, to the tactical execution to ensure continued sustainable growth through the introduction of new products and services. He also held an executive responsibility for all Research, Compliance, Training and Seminars Solutions.

TJ Viljoen is admitted as attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa. He holds Baccalaureus Procurationes (B.Proc), University of Johannesburg, Baccalaureus Legum (LL.B), University of Johannesburg, Magister Legum (LL.M), Cum Laude, University of Johannesburg and Higher Diploma Tax Law, University of Johannesburg.

Alan Wylie

Chief Financial Officer, LexisNexis Pacific

Alan Wylie

Alan Wylie is responsible for operating efficiencies, analysis and forecasting, budget development and implementation for LexisNexis Pacific in Australia and New Zealand. He has a detailed knowledge of the financial and operational workings of LexisNexis which underpins the achievement of the company’s objectives.

Alan has been employed with LexisNexis for over eight years. He held the position of Chief Financial Officer in Germany for three and a half years. This position was held until Alan joined LexisNexis Australia in July 2007 in the position of Strategic Initiatives Asia Pacific. In early 2008 Alan was offered the position of Chief Financial Officer, Pacific. Alan and his team work closely with the Executive Team and Management of Australia and New Zealand on a daily basis to ensure alignment of financial and organisational goals.

Alan has gained a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and an MBA at the University of London.

Tyson Wienker

Director of Strategy, Innovation & Corporate Solutions, LexisNexis Pacific

Tyson Wienker

Tyson Wienker is responsible for forward looking strategy and business development for the LexisNexis Pacific business. With a five year outlook Tyson drives the creation and management review of large scale business development projects that impact the company’s direction.

To support growth for the business, Tyson’s focus is on existing and new solutions for new markets and new solutions for existing markets, all the time ensuring that LexisNexis Pacific’s direction is in line with the global strategy.

Supporting and fostering innovation is also high on Tyson’s agenda as the Innovation Leader for the business.

Prior to joining LexisNexis, Tyson worked with the Australian Defence Industry in business development and project management. He was responsible for the delivery of a number multi-million dollar import deals for the Australian Defence Force and worked on associated regional strategy.

Subsequently, he worked for a year in the Pacific LexisNexis business as the Pacific Strategy Development Manager before joining the LexisNexis Executive Development Rotational Program. After working for a year out of New York on the Program, he transitioned to London.

Tyson has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Information Systems and Management from the University of New South Wales.

Josephine Simeone

Josephine Simeone

Leading the People and Culture portfolio for LexisNexis Pacific, Josephine Simeone collaborates with the Executive Committee and leadership teams across Australia and New Zealand. Josephine and her team support the Culture and Transformation activities that drive an innovative and customer focussed business, through workforce engagement, talent management and capability development to better meet our evolving client businesses and their needs.

Josephine has extensive Human Resource experience gained across FMCG, Technology, Pharmaceutical, Banking and Finance industries and predominantly in Global multi-national organisations. She has held a variety of roles ranging from generalist Human Resource Leadership positions through to specialist roles such as Rewards Management and Talent Development.

She joined LexisNexis in her current capacity in March 2009. Josephine holds a Bachelor of Business (Industrial Relations and Human Resources) and a Master of Business (Human Resources Management).

Marc K Peter

Director of Technology & Business Development, LexisNexis Pacific

Marc K Peter

Marc K Peter is responsible for translating market needs and opportunities into products and services which generate sustainable value and increase the productivity of our partners and clients. Marc drives and implements the business development and technology agenda for LexisNexis Pacific, including product development and the management of strategic initiatives.

Marc joined LexisNexis in 2008 from E*TRADE Australia (ANZ banking group) where he was responsible for brand marketing. Previously, as Head of Marketing, Marc was managing the marketing teams in Austria, Germany and Switzerland for eBay International.

Prior to this, Marc was in a strategy and marketing role with PostFinance, a leading Swiss retail bank, and founder and Managing Director of Crusius, a US-Swiss marketing and information management consultancy. Between 1992 to 2001, Marc held management positions in the media and publishing industry with several Swiss and German publishing groups.

Marc studied finance at UC Berkeley, received a Master of Business Process Engineering and E-Business from UAS Bern, a Master of Marketing from University of Basel and an Executive MBA from UAS Bern/Babson College/Peking University.

Mike Russell

Mike Russell

Mike is the Operations Director with overall responsibility for infrastructure and production for LexisNexis’ operations in Australia and New Zealand. His role spans the provision of business infrastructure, business resilience planning, knowledge management and responsibility for the production functions for LexisNexis’ publishing and practice management software development in Australia and New Zealand.

Mike joined the LexisNexis Executive in November 2007 as General Manager Legal Markets with responsibility for restructuring the workflow solutions, customer service, sales and marketing functions LexisNexis Australia across the Legal, Government and Corporate markets. Mike led the customer-centric transformation of these teams to ensure that LexisNexis’ information and workflow solutions meet customers’ needs.

Mike has had a successful career in senior leadership roles across industry sectors such as Federal Government, Funds Management, Software Development, eCommerce, and the leisure and entertainment industries. Mike has worked with leading corporate and government organisations to successfully drive service and sales development, organisation-change and business process improvement programs. He has a strong track record in leading teams to develop and implement new structures and processes to underpin business efficiency and growth.

Immediately prior to joining LexisNexis, Mike was with Locus Pty Limited for nearly eight years. He held senior sales, marketing and product development roles before taking over as Managing Director. He held that position for five years, during which, he led the Locus team to become the leading provider of legal practice management and workflow solutions in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. Locus was acquired by LexisNexis in November 2007 and Mike was invited to join the Senior Executive team of LexisNexis Australia and to lead the successful joining of the Locus team with LexisNexis to create the workflow solutions and practice management division of the business.

Daemoni Bishop

Daemoni Bishop leads the Research Solutions division at LexisNexis Australia and is responsible for LexisNexis printed publications and online content offering. Daemoni’s team is focussed on understanding key customer needs to deliver valuable legal and business information that is authoritative, current, comprehensive and easy to use. By listening to our customers, Daemoni ensures decisions are made as to how this content is delivered though our works in both hard-copy and online.

Daemoni has had experience outside LexisNexis in legal practice and consulting with a professional services firm. This experience is overwhelmed by two long periods of service within the publishing team at LexisNexis where she began in the role of a legal editor. Daemoni has been leading the Research Division since 2004.

Daemoni holds a Bachelor of Arts and Law from Sydney University and is an Associate of Trinity College London.

Christopher Cook

Director of Practice Management, LexisNexis Australia

Chris Cook

Chris Cook leads the Practice Management team at LexisNexis which is responsible for delivering solutions that enable our clients to more effectively mananage their business, increase their productivity and profitability, and stimulate growth. Chris' responsibilities include managing the presales, post-sales and professional services teams.

Prior to joining LexisNexis, Chris held in senior management roles developing and managing local and international services businesses. Chris has worked with leading organisations in the Natural Resources, Government, Financial Services and Manufacturing industries to develop and manage sales strategies to drive strong growth. Chris’ employment history includes Partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Vice President at Computer Sciences Corporation and sales management positions with with IBM and Fujitsu.

Christopher joined LexisNexis in August 2010 and holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering.

Simon Wilkins

Simon Wilkins

Simon heads the team that is responsible for the customer service and sales operations of LexisNexis Australia across the Legal, Government and Corporate markets. Simon and his team work with our clients to ensure that LexisNexis’ information and workflow solutions meet their needs and that they achieve the benefits that these solutions can deliver.

With many years of senior sales leadership experience, Simon has a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sales strategy to achieve sustained growth and profitability. Prior to joining LexisNexis in August 2010, Simon was the General Manager, Sales at CCH Australia and Director of Sales and Marketing at McGraw-Hill Australia, where he focused on growing business, building teams and delivering successful customer relationship management strategies. Simon has also held senior management roles at Pearson in the UK, Amsterdam and Australia.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Bristol.
