    My role at LexisNexis is to secure new business from across all legal sectors –law firms, sole practitioners, corporate, government. etc.

    I am a trained legal professional and have experience working for a small law business. I joined LexisNexis in 2016 after finishing my LLM at University of Auckland. In my role, I deal with lawyers, understanding their practice needs and challenges and offering a solution.

    When I am not working, I enjoy playing and watching cricket and love hanging out with friends and family!

    I’m Lewis, a one-eyed Cantabrian but don’t hold that against me.

    I have 10 +years-experience working in the financial and personal insurance sectors. Most recently before joining LexisNexis NZ I was working with software solutions designed to support and enhance the day to day processes for Small and medium sized firms ensuring their processes are simple, measurable, and effective.

    My background and range of business experiences assists me in understanding process barriers and identifying business needs. Working with a global provider means I am truly able to tailor bespoke solutions using best in class tools and providers. The focus for me is to support your growth or specific agenda.

    Before joining LexisNexis in 2014, I taught adult education and trained teachers in a variety of roles in Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. My favourite part of the research training role is working with people. I enjoy helping customers to tackle their research challenges and finding new ways to offer training. I am an avid traveller, reader and enthusiastic, amateur sports coach for my kids.

    After returning from the US in 2007 I began my legal career at LexisNexis. Since then, training our customers has become my focus, and promoting the rule of Law. I’m Christchurch based, working tirelessly to develop your research knowledge, providing up to date legal materials, ensuring you get value from ALL our products. My definition of “serving a customer” is ensuring your needs are met in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

    One person can make a big difference, little things matter a lot, I take pride in my work and the company I’m working for. The better I serve my customers the more successful my customer will be. I promise to always give my best. Outside of work you’ll see me on a tennis court either playing or supporting my tennis mad family.

    Strategy Lead - Small and Sole Practice

    My role at LexisNexis is to ensure that everything we do can be tailored to meet the varied needs of New Zealand’s many small and sole practice firms.

    I worked for a sole practitioner for a number of years, starting as a practice administrator and eventually joining as a solicitor once I’d finished my studies at the University of Canterbury. I joined LexisNexis 2017 while living in London, where I worked mostly with large and international firms, government clients and the Inns of Court. When an opportunity to lead our Small and Sole Practice segment strategy came up in 2019, I transferred to the Auckland office to get back to working with the type of firm I started my career in.

    Outside of work I try to spend as much time outdoors as I can. I’ve been involved with Guides and Scouts for a long time and I’m currently a Cub Leader in Epsom.

    I help our new and existing clients with research services, practice management, software tools, hard copy and online publications. The tools folks need to meet and defeat business challenges.
