Each year, ALSA delegates descend on one Australian city for a week of Council, Competitions and Social Events. This is a great opportunity for Member Associations to network and build partnerships. Each of the New University winners get to fly to Australia to compete for the ALSA Paper Presentation Title. After refining their skills against the Australian, the University winners get to compete against each other to see who will be the 2024 NZLSA Paper Presentation Champion Research, and write a legal essay on a topic of your choice and present it to a panel of Judges.

Wellness Week is hosted by AULSS each semester ahead of exams, and consists of a series of events designed to boost law student morale. It forms a core part of AULSS‘s wellbeing focus and function as a support system for our law student cohort.

VUWLSS Study sessions

Every week of Semester 1 & 2 | Victoria University of Wellington

Study Groups run weekly for 200 level students across the core papers. These are run in person. The content of the sessions themselves is self-lead by the students. We facilitate their space, snacks and support of one another.

AUTLSS Semester 1 & 2 Exam Wananga

In collaboration with Te Aro Ture (TAT), the māori law students association, and the Pacific Law Students Association (PLSA), autlss organizes this event. Twice a year, we conduct exam revision workshops led by top students and alumni, making it our most attended event by law students. This platform allows students to enhance their understanding, practice answering exam-type questions, and seek clarification on any knowledge gaps.

LAWSOC – Semester 2 Exam Tutorials – University of Canterbury

The LAWSOC Tutorials are our major academic events, having these tutorials in person enables more engagement and provides students with social interaction they may be lacking in the stressful exam session. The support compensates our senior tutors who ran these tutorials.
